According To Penn State, Marines Are Racists, Misogynists, and Homophobes

When did painting with broad brush strokes become in vogue for liberals, academics, and universities? Maybe attacking the military has never really gone out of vogue. But this should make all of us in the veteran and military community think. Many of us have experienced a time when our service, our branches, our brothers and sisters have been openly denigrated. And yet, imagine if this professor had stated that Islam was racist, homophobic, and misogynistic. The uproar from the academic community and the American media at large would have been huge. This Professor, if not tenured, would have been fired. But, since he just stated that about the Marine Corps, all is right with the world.

Look at the end of the day, every organization is comprised of demons and saints. However to state that Full Metal Jacket, a movie that was produced in 1987, based on a book that was written in 1979, and is about Marines in Vietnam, has complete and total correlation with the Marine Corps (and by extension the military) of today does a gross injustice to what the Marine Corps stands for, who comprises the Marine Corps, and the values that form the bedrock of the Marine Corps.
